Set in magnificent isolation - 123 acres of dry tropical forest dropping down to perfect beaches - yet just 45 minutes from Liberia international airport, Kasiiya Papagayo is a new (2019), exclusive and unique property in Costa Rica.
“Prioritise the forest. From the very beginning, the conservation of the tropical forest has been paramount. Our intention throughout the project is not to have minimal impact on the environment, but zero.”
Kasiiya enjoys two pristine Pacific coast beaches - where whales and dolphins pass - and is set within biodiverse, dry tropical forest home to monkeys, rare birds and thousands of other species. “Kasiiya exists amongst the wildlife of Papagayo. Every decision we make is driven by our unity with our lush landscape and the wildlife it is home to.”
Five extraordinary eco-friendly tented suites have been constructed from mainly natural materials on timber frame platforms. Each offers its guests total comfort and ultimate privacy, with beach or tropical forest views. All suites feature King size beds, large open living room with daybeds, indoor and open-air private bathrooms, an outdoor area with a porch including a dining area, and couches as well as fans, air-conditioning, eco minibar, a small library, and Wi-Fi.
“Far from shutting the world out, each Kasiiya tented suite is carefully designed to enhance sense of place. From the natural, earthy colour palettes to the layout that invites nature in – staying in a Kasiiya tent is an experience in itself.“

"Chef Sebastian Guevara believes the cuisine of Kasiiya should be as beautiful as the land itself. The views, the air and the smell of the ocean inspire his dishes.”
The cooking team serves creative fresh local and international menus sourced by local farms, and uses organic ingredients in 90% of the dishes in the two restaurants. Dining in settings as memorable as the cuisine.
Spa treatments take place amid the jungle and incorporate local volcanic stones, oils and mud. The on-site healer helps guests "pause", and enhance the sense of connection to nature through local techniques and rituals.
Experiences are designed to help guests connect to nature in their own way, to allow a personalised experience.
One of the best snorkelling spots on the coast is directly in front of the three beachfront suites - whales can be seen from October to February. The ecosystem features three types of monkeys, and spectacular bird life that can be enjoyed from spaces throughout the property.
A fitness platform enjoys expansive ocean views and is ideal for yoga.
Nature loving staff will always be happy to accompany you on jungle tours and kayak tours, and special night ventures to follow the turtles first steps towards the sea.
Other activities include stand-up paddle boarding, tree-climbing, hiking, diving, fishing, boat trips, culinary and family activities, and surfing.
